This spring, I entered the soccer mom world. The Princess Fairy loves soccer and was really interested so I signed her up. Let me tell you coming from the world of ballet moms, soccer was major culture shock for me but lots of fun. If you follow me on Instagram you probably already know that I’ve been roughing it out at games with grass on my jeans and doing my best to keep The Super Knight off the soccer field. In the beginning, I wasn’t prepared for the soccer mom life and I totally underestimated what the kids and I would need. We’ve caught up and now at the end of the spring semester I am happy to say that I’ve made some soccer mom friends and settled into soccer mom life comfortably. I don’t want another mom to suffer through first soccer day like I did, especially with the cool soccer mom crew watching (you know there’s a cool mom crew at every practice) so I wanted to share 5 things every soccer mom needs to be strong from sidelines:

1. Lots of Water

You’re allowed to judge the fact that I didn’t walk with enough water for The Princess Fairy for her first practice. I mean she’s going to be running around for 50 minutes with a few breaks, she’s going to be thirsty. I bought one bottle of water but my little athlete drank it down half way through. We had to make a zip line for water after practice. Now, I pack extra water, just to be on the safe side and for other moms who underestimated the extreme thirst of the Little League.

2. Snacks

Soccer is at 3:00pm and everyone is hungry at that time. Lunch is beginning to wane off and in all the rushing to make it there on time we have no time to get a real meal in. Snacks are super important especially for The Super Knight who is simultaneously bored and hungry while there. Nothing like boredom and hunger to drive a toddler into a tantrum. I pack snacks that I know will satisfy their hunger like bananas, apples and crackers.

3. Outdoor Picnic Blanket or Folding Chair

Outdoor picnic blanket or folding chair is necessary for soccer especially if there isn’t any bleachers or bleachers would keep you too far away away from the soccer field.

4. Toys for other children

With my son in tow it’s important that I keep him distracted. I learned that during the first practice when he just bored out of his mind. I bring a different toys so he has different options to keep him entertained.

5. V8 V-Fusion

Of course like most moms, I tend to focus on my kids first and well that can drain all of my energy. My day usually start at 5:30 am and if I don’t eat well enough my energy is completely depleted by 3:00pm. For an energy boost, I pack Pomegranate Blueberry V8 V-Fusion. V-Fusion is made with fruits and vegetables. I love that it’s all natural energy so I can enjoy a pick-me-up without having to worry about crashing before bedtime. I purchased my Pomegranate Blueberry V-Fusion at Walmart and I’m looking forward to trying it in Peach Mango, Orange Pineapple, Black Cherry and Tomato.
