One of the things that I’ve learned in my almost 10 years of marriage to Mr. Rattles, is that he loves when we make an experience out of his gifts. Those of you who’ve been around for a while may remember the fun we had last Father’s Day with the message in the bottle. This year, I wanted us to do something sentimental again so the kids and I plotted to make him some photo gifts thanks to our friends at Snapfish. Now, we haven’t shown it to him yet and since he reads the blog probably once a month, we may get away with him not seeing this post. I love the idea of creating a memory lane of his almost 6 years as a dad, so the kids helped me select some of our favorite photos ranging from when I was pregnant with The Princess Fairy to selfies he’s recently taken with them that I stole from his phone.
While choosing the images to upload was time-consuming my little helpers made the experience really fun. We chatted while I searched through Instagram, my computer and Facebook for photos. I love how easy it was to locate and upload photos while working on the photo book, magnets, and the Father’s Day card that we got him and the experience gave us the chance to reminisce about all the good times our little family enjoyed together. Of course, the kids loved the photos of themselves with their dad when they were babies.

I know that it’s going to be the same when he finally gets to check out the gifts and see sentimental photos like the first time our daughter rode her bike or when The Super Knight was finally brave enough to get on the carousel or when he got soaked in the sprinklers at the park running after the baby. Maybe, just maybe this may even make him maybe shed an internal tear hahaha. After all, he’s an engaged dad on this journey called parenting, well in his case fatherhood.
