Late-Summer Chill With Jam Cab

We hate to think about it but summer is ending! Listen, Labor Day is next Monday and my kids are heading to school exactly a week from today. In only days, my mama friends and I will be back in the endless cycle of drop-offs, pick-ups and long nights of homework. So before we get back into that routine which leaves us little or no time to hang out with each other we planned a fun girls night aka Mama Chill.  We needed time to just talk each other’s ears off, laugh at the silliest things and enjoy some good wine like JaM Cabernet because you know we are all way up over 21 (maybe even 31?) and so responsible it ain’t even funny. There really is nothing like catching up with your friends as adults even though we all keep up on social media and text regularly, when we get together we always realize how much we still manage to miss about each other’s lives. Our plan was to bond as the summer ends but we ended up celebrating good news and cheering up disappointments. Good thing we had JaM Cab which is made in the tradition of great California winemaking on deck!

Since I know that many of you may be thinking about having a quick get together for the unofficial end of summer this weekend, I wanted to share 3 things we did to make our little mama chill a really fun time:

1. We played MASH!

Actually,  the plan was to do our makeup with blindfolds on but everyone decided that they spent way too much time getting their makeup right to have it messed up.  So we did the next best thing, we played Mash. Now, if you don’t know how to play MASH you were not raised in the 90’s. MASH was and still is one of the games that bring me most joy (you can judge me). Of course, we all had celebrity husbands and lived the ridiculous lives but that’s what makes MASH the perfect game for our Mama Chill with JaM Cab.

2. Snacked like queens.

Along with our “berry-licious” JaM Cab we had Brioche toasts with fig butter, feta cheese, and olive tapenade. I love olive tapenade and may or may not have eaten most of it. I definitely got the side eye. We also had gouda cheese and grapes to nibble on.

3. No phones policy.

We skipped selfies and spending all our time distracted on social media by turning our phones off. These days, a no phones policy is necessary sometimes to really enjoy the moment. Instead, we listened to music, you can check out the summer chilling  Spotify playlist here

ps: Fun fact about the meaning of JaM Cellars since I was curious about the meaning of the name.  John and Michele are the “J” and the “M” in JaM Cellars and they are second-generation Napa Valley vintners .
