Moms can surely have fun with fashion too!
When it comes to style, I think it’s important to experiment. The only way you’ll know if something would look great on you, is if you actually try it on. Just looking at clothing on a hanger or on the internet doesn’t let you know how it would look on your body.
While dresses and separates are sexy, there isn’t anything more fun than a playsuit. That’s why this summer, I plan to try my first post-baby playsuit. I’m still shopping around for the right one but I’ve been trying different styles to figure out what would work well for my body type. I’ve found that wrap playsuits look great and accentuate my curves but my biggest challenge so far is the fact that I am tall (not that tall but 5′ 7″) and most playsuits seem to be designed for shorter women. So, I’ll keep looking and when I find one that fits perfect I will do an outfit of the day post and give you all the details.
However, just because I haven’t found the playsuit for myself doesn’t mean that I can’t share my (ahem) “field research” with you. Here are some of my favorites, I think they will look great dressed up and down and work well for night or day dates.

Playsuits for Casual Dates
Playsuits are also perfect for day parties, and other casual hangouts. Nothing screams relaxed like denim. This denim playsuit is perfect to relax with the family and run after your kids. Since this suit have a retro vibe to it, I thought that trendy gladiator sandals would be a good way to make them look modern. Worn with an easy cross-body bag to keep your hands free and MAC ruby woo, this look is daytime perfection.
Tips for Styling Playsuits
I can’t leave you without some field notes.
- Dress up your playsuit with a blazer or a vest.
- Skip wearing wedges with playsuits. Pair with either a pair of ankle strap heels of cute pair of gladiator sandals or lace up flats.
- Find a playsuit for your shape and body type. Playsuits are intimidating but no matter what’s your body type or size is there is one designed for you. Always try on a playsuit to ensure it fits and do a sitting test to confirm it’s not too short.
- Have fun! It’s called a playsuit for a reason!
