The Princess Fairy got hit by the ice cream bug this summer. Every single day, she asks for ice cream. I explained to her a few times that ice cream is a sometimes food but she can’t stop asking. So, I knew that I had to come up with an alternative because the way dads are set up, Mr. Rattles would of given into that little cute face all summer. Yesterday, when she asked I said sure and told her to go back to playing and I’ll let her know when it’s ready. That’s when I tackled the fridge and found blueberry flavored Yoplait® Greek yogurt that I purchased at Walmart a few weeks ago, chocolate chips and blueberries. I decided to use them to make her some yummy greek yogurt cubes.
The Princess Fairy’s face lit up when she saw the ingredients for the Greek Yogurt Cubes. She loves chocolate.
- Yoplait Greek Blended Yogurt
- Chocolate Chips (1 tablespoon)
- Blueberries (I tablespoon)
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Pour in an ice tray.
- Allow to freeze for 2 hours or until frozen.
- Remove from ice tray and serve.
These were really good! They were also really messy and got all over my little ones faces, hands and clothes.
However, they loved it! Especially the thrill of biting into the chocolate chips on the inside. Since, I am usually have ice cream more often than I should on my healthy journey, I am also going to be snacking on these during the summer. I’m so happy to be responsible for our family’s wholesome summer snacking.
If you want to avoid messy hands you can freeze your greek yogurt cubes with popsicle sticks.
Of course, feel welcome to remix this recipe and add your favorite ingredients. I plan to add chia seeds next time I make my Chocolate & Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cubes.
What are your favorite summer time wholesome snacks?
